Shevchenkivska Vesna 2025

Faculty of Sociology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University

&
Learned Society of Students of the Faculty of Sociology

We invite students, young scholars and researchers to participate in the traditional annual international scientific conference "Shevchenkivska Vesna 2025"!

This year, we continue to actively work on social research, respond to challenges, prepare recommendations, develop ways to overcome crises, and organize scientific discussions. This work would never be possible without those who protect and help protect our country. Therefore, we express our deep gratitude to everyone, thanks to whom we are able to support our activities!

Concept of the conference:

Every year, the Faculty of Sociology, with the support of student activists, organizes the Shevchenkivska Vesna conference - a platform for discussion, debate, and reflection on the profound transformations shaping our society.

Over the past 11 years of war, and during the three years of full-scale invasion, Ukrainian society has faced unprecedented challenges. The scale of internal displacement, migration, life under occupation, the experience of siege and filtration camps, as well as deep psychological, cultural and physical trauma, have become part of everyday reality for many Ukrainians.

At the same time, our society has demonstrated extraordinary resilience—mobilizing rapidly, strengthening national identity, and deepening respect for its own culture and statehood. The ability to reinterpret historical narratives, redefine symbols and frames of memory, and create new meanings in the face of adversity has become significant.

These ongoing transformations present new challenges for sociological research, urging scholars to explore emerging issues, adapt research directions, and engage with pressing societal changes. Students, too, are embracing these shifts, selecting new, relevant topics for their academic inquiries.

This year, at Shevchenkivska Vesna, we will not only showcase the scientific achievements of our participants but also engage in meaningful discussions about the key issues shaping our world today. Together, we will critically reflect on the challenges, transformations, and pressing questions facing our society.
