Scientific Society of Students of the Faculty of Sociology
invite all students and young scholars to participate in the 18th All-Ukrainian Conference with International Participation
“SOCIOLOGY AND CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS”
This year, we continue to actively engage in researching society, responding to challenges, preparing recommendations, developing strategies for overcoming crises, and organizing academic discussions. Such work would never have been possible without those who defend and help defend our country. Therefore, we express our deepest gratitude to everyone thanks to whom we are able to carry on our activities!
Concept of the conference:
Every year, the Faculty of Sociology, with the support of the student community, holds the traditional conference “Sociology and Contemporary Social Transformations” — a platform for discussion, debate, and reflection on the transformations our society is undergoing. Over the years of struggle for freedom, we have faced new challenges. The scale of internal displacement, migration abroad, as well as the experience of living under occupation, siege, surviving filtration camps, and enduring psychological and cultural traumas have become a reality for many Ukrainians.
At the same time, society has demonstrated an extraordinary capacity for instant mobilization and unity, a stronger sense of national identity, and a profound respect for its own culture and state. Equally important has been the flexibility in rethinking interpretations, symbols, and frameworks of memory, as well as the creation of new meanings under challenging circumstances.
These changes pose new challenges to the sociological community and open up crucial themes for research. Our scholars are actively focusing on studying these urgent issues, reshaping the directions of their work, while students are choosing new, relevant topics for their projects.
This year, during the conference, we will present and discuss the academic work of participants, focus on key areas of interest, and together reflect on the transformations, problems, and challenges that our society faces today.
